Esquidy, also known as Becky, is a Meanjin based illustrative artist creating unearthly creatures through acrylic and watercolour painting, also exploring found materials, wheat pasting and digital art. Inspired by almost anything, Esquidy is particularly fascinated by all things natural, weird and mythical, most consistently sea creatures. 

These kindly beings are a visualisation of how the artist feels they fit in with the ever-changing societal norms. Through messy and carefree processes, Esquidy treats their art as a therapeutic, emotional release and escape from their reality. Having some mural experience, Esquidy aspires to explore street art, aerosols and larger works in the future.
